PUBLIC NOTICE: Notice of Termination-Digital Equity Act Program

The American Samoa Department of Commerce Broadband Coordination Opportunities Redevelopment and Deployment (BCORD) Office is saddened to inform you that, effective May 9, 2025, the Digital Equity Act has been officially terminated.


This decision, issued under the administration of President Trump and Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, was communicated on May 9, 2025, to broadband offices of states and territories by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) under the U.S. Department of Commerce. Accordingly, all remaining grant funds associated with the Act will be returned to the federal government.


We remain committed to advancing broadband initiatives in American Samoa by supporting digital literacy, education, workforce development, and economic growth in the digital arena. To ensure proper communication, we will host a meeting this Friday, May 16, 2025, to answer any questions you may have.
