American Samoa BEAD Final Proposal Comment Period

The American Samoa Broadband Coordination Opportunities Redevelopment and Deployment (BCORD) Office under the Department of Commerce, is pleased to announce that the Draft American Samoa BEAD Final Proposal is now open for public comment until September 4, 2025. All broadband stakeholders are invited to review and submit comments by email at bcord@doc.as.gov or via form (https://forms.gle/8uSGTUUncf2REkws7).

The National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s (NTIA) Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) Program provides $42.45 billion to expand high-speed internet access across the U.S. states and territories.

American Samoa has been allocated BEAD funding totaling approximately $37 million to support expansion of broadband access to unserved and underserved locations. The BEAD program in the US Territory of American Samoa aims to provide access to universal broadband service and support digital equity initiatives. In addition, the Final Proposal is the “final submission” to provide an update to the approved Initial Proposal, as modified by the BEAD Restructuring Policy Notice on how states and territories will ensure that every resident has access to a reliable, high-speed broadband connection.

The American Samoa BEAD Final Proposal is available online at broadband.as.gov. You may also contact the BEAD Coordinator by email at bcord@doc.as.gov for more information.

Comments must be received no later than 12:00 pm SST on September 4, 2025.
