Public Notice: American Samoa BEAD Middle Mile Application Round Opens

The American Samoa Broadband Coordination Opportunities Redevelopment and Deployment (BCORD) Office under the Department of Commerce, is pleased to announce the opening of the American Samoa BEAD Middle Mile Application Round on Friday August 8, 2025. This application window will open for a period of ten days. 

The BEAD Middle Mile Program’s primary purpose is to facilitate last-mile broadband deployment in unserved or underserved areas, ensuring that all American Samoa residents have access to high-speed internet. This project aims to enhance affordability and improve service quality in areas that are already served but remain burdened by high costs or limited bandwidth. By addressing these areas the project ensures that American Samoa is not left behind in the digital age.

Middle mile infrastructure is any broadband infrastructure that does not connect directly to an end-user location. This project will help ensure all unserved, and underserved locations have connection to high-speed internet. Applicants are invited to submit proposals for the BEAD Middle Mile Round of Applications.
