PUBLIC NOTICE: U.S Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) CDBG-DR Substantial Amendment

Notice is hereby given that the American Samoa Government, through the Department of Commerce (DOC), is soliciting citizen input on the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Substantial Amendment to its Action Plan. The American Samoa Government will receive $23,039,000 due to Disaster Recovery 4357. The main purpose of this public notice is to inform the public that the program funds will go towards Infrastructure Project Activity-- the Tualauta Drainage Project as an unmet priority need of Tropical Cyclone Gita, and how the funds will be spent to support the project. All citizens are welcome to provide comments on the Substantial Amendment. Public comments on the CDBG-DR Substantial Amendment draft are welcome within the 30-day comment period as required, beginning on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, and ending on Friday, August 26, 2022.
